Day Zero Project.

Jun. 29th, 2012 | 09:41 am
mood: excited excited

The Mission:
Complete 101 preset tasks in a period of 1001 days.

The Criteria:
Tasks must be specific (ie. no ambiguity in the wording) with a result that is either measurable or clearly defined. Tasks must also be realistic and stretching (ie. represent some amount of work on my part).

Why 1001 Days?
Many people have created lists in the past - frequently simple goals such as New Year's resolutions. The key to beating procrastination is to set a deadline that is realistic. 1001 Days (about 2.75 years) is a better period of time than a year, because it allows you several seasons to complete the tasks, which is better for organising and timing some tasks such as overseas trips or outdoor activities.

I haven't read any since I was about 14.

TV. I don't even know what the music is like on this because I'm working and don't have sound, but Heroes is my favourite show ever, and the 1000 paper cranes bit is my favourite next to when Sylar goes to visit his mother and makes the room a snowglobe, but I couldn't find a good video of that.
MUST FINISH WATCHING SERIES THREE.

101 Update.

I've changed a few about a bit, because the time limitations were becoming unrealistic. In all fairness, I've added MORE to some of them, but there's just no restriction on how often I have to do the activity, which I think balances it out.

COMPLETED hug 50 people, my last five people being in Krakow. Dan helped along by whoring me out for a couple of hugs since I said I only had a few more to go. Haha.

Up to 11.5/50 on Top 50 Horror Movies. The .5 comes from watching Death Proof, and not Planet Terror, because they are collectively Grindhouse on the list.

Went to 2/5 museums. Auschwitz 1, and Auschwitz Birkenau.

Up to 3/10 new restaurants. Two more in Krakow. One which I have no idea what it was called (forgot to look at the time), but we had this dish where the English description was 'Pork stew with some kind of dumpling'. And by dumpling, they meant kind of doughy, almost pasta like blobs. The second was called Restaurant (in Polish) Florianska, which was quite a posh place. Mushroom pasta with prawns and chicken breast. Excellent. As well as some piergogi (dumplings with sheeps cheese or meat) as a starter. Was disgusted with Sam's table manners and inability to use a knife properly.

Up to 6/10 new foods, the 4 new ones being
- Gulaz wierprozowy z kopytkami (The some kind of dumpling stew)
- Zapiekanka (This was like a pizza bread filled with meat)
- Polish bean soup (Tomato-like soup with lima(?) beans and frankfurter)
- Pierogi 28.11.2009 (Dumplings)

COMPLETED 10 new alcoholic drinks.
Final four were in Krakow, and various types of beer.
- Zombie 11.10.2009
- Mandarin Sambuca 24.10.2009
- Goodtimes 26.10.2009
- Cherry Sambuca Spritzer 10.11.2009
- Lucky Chinese Beer 16.11.2009
- Plum Beer (Polish) 16.11.2009
- Okocim 25.11.2009
- Zyweic 25.11.2009
- Warka 28.11.2009
- Strong 29.11.2009

Sang another song at karaoke.
Yellow by Coldplay at Mbassy in Krakow. Also sang Rick Astley with Sam again at The Pig, but it doesn't count since I STUPIDLY said 10 different songs. I think I might count playing singing games and Noraebang as karaoke, though since it's still in front of people.

Been called into work over something 'urgent and very serious'. Now, I know since I'm the manager it doesn't neccessarily mean I did anything wrong, but I'm worried. But on the other hand, they have been going through the CCTV for the last week, and I've not even been there, so I can't imagine it being anything I did.

Ugh. I don't like being a manager.

I keep thinking about how much I miss working at William Hill. Sure, I complained about it all the time when I was there, but now I've left and I'm working for Coastal Amusements, I kind of realise I didn't really have it all that bad at all. I think I just got a bit overexcited at the prospect of having my own shop, and being in charge, when to be honest, I don't even really like being in charge. I think it was more of a case that I couldn't progress anymore with William Hill, but I wanted to prove I could do more.

Anyway, in taking this new job I have subjected myself to between 7 and 12 hours a day of intense boredom, the only benefit at all being that we have the internet on our tills. However good it may sound to be paid for playing on the internet all day, it's no match for having someone to talk to, actually serving some customers and a bit of cheeky tv watching thrown in for the evening.

People keep asking me why I don't just ask William Hill for my job back - Because they did say I could go back. I guess it's more pride than anything. I don't want to go crawling back and say that I was wrong. I suppose I wasn't wrong, really. It's not as if they're just going to shut it down or anything, which is what everyone else is worrying about. It's just more a case that I'm not enjoying it as much. As well as this, if I were to go back I wouldn't be able to take my previous mangerial position, because it's been given to someone else - I'd just have to wait until something came up, and even then, getting a job at the same level as I was at before now pays about £1500 less than it did when I got it, and considering I took a £3500 payrise to come and do this job, that's like a drop of £5000 to go back to William Hill, which is a HELL of a lot of money.

I don't know. It's making my brain rot. And I'm always so tired. SO tired. I can't even study here. It like, drains my brain of any activity whatsoever.

If my jaw is hurting I assume I go to the doctor and not the dentist, right?
I never go to the doctor ;| But it's been bad for ages now. It hurts on the right hand side when I yawn, or open it at all wide to like, take a bite of something. Not good :/

Going to see Saw VI tonight. I haven't seen the past two, so I'm sure I won't know what the hell is going on, but it's on the list to go to the cinema 30 times, which is quite a lot, so I suppose it gets one trip out of the way.

May be going to Paris with Jonny and Hayley in the spring, which would be cool. Sam's being a bit of a bellend about it though because it's too expensive, but w/e. They want to go to the catacombs.

Oh, and Patrick Wolf's awesome London Palladium show is on Sunday. Accompanied by full gospel choir and orchestra. I'm so excited.

In other news, I'm arguing about the death penalty on Facebook. Thoughts?

Nov. 4th, 2009 | 02:55 pm

So, it's been established that my holiday dates are November 25th, returning on December 1st.

So Sam and I got all excited and started planning a little getaway for the five days, and became pretty set on Poland. Hotel and flight for Around £180 each, slightly less if we were to take 3 or 4 people, so Dan was halfway in...

Then I realised my next tattoo appointment is on the 26th, and Rebecca has basically set aside her whole afternoon to tattoo me - 3 until 6. So I've sent her an e-mail, and hopefully she'll be able to move it by a few days, or I guess if the worst comes to the worst, I could cancel it, so long as it doesn't mean I lose my deposit, but I've given her like, 3 weeks notice, so hopefully it will be okay.

Ohhh dear ;[

I just came to the realisation that becase of my over ring on my 101 list, I can get rid of the 5000 Question Survey.

Thank god, because it's fucking terrible and I hate it, and I think it would have made me go insane.

Part Twenty Six )

Went out last night for a bit with Sophia, a new girl at uni, Alex Sweet and some other students. We played DDR, some other girl got her boyfriend to win her two Hello Kitty hand puppets. I was jealous. ;|

Halloween costumes are not coming together very well for the others, where I have TWO. I ordered Sam's, just because I know how poor he is at getting things done. I'd almost rather just buy everyones. Jonny did make a good hat, though.

Oh. I've been talking to a boy. His name's Seb. I think I'd quite like to see him again sometime - I only met him briefly in the Bras Monkey a couple of weeks ago. He seems fun, but a lot of his friends are idiots, and potentially hate me because of college stuff. Stupid ex boyfriend drama with his ex girlfriend. Sigh.
